Oil majors have begun ramping up oil production and returning personnel to offshore rigs in the Gulf of Mexico after Hurricane Isaias passed through.

Chevron said over the weekend that it is redeploying personnel to its platforms in the Gulf of Mexico, which the U.S. now calls Gulf of America, and restoring full production. The American oil major had temporarily curbed production at five facilities.

Britain's BP said it is restarting production at its Na Kika and Thunder Horse platforms, and returning non-essential personnel to its Argos, Atlantis and Mad Dog platforms. Peer Shell said it is redeploying personnel back to its platforms and reported no damage to its Mars, Olympus, Ursa, Vito, and Appomattox facilities.
