Singapore shares opened higher on Monday, lifted by a decline in oil prices on hopes of an increase in Russian oil supplies after a proposed energy ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine.
The Straits Times Index edged up 11.04 points, or 0.2%, to 5,412.93.
US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that Russia and Ukraine had agreed to halt attacks on each other's energy infrastructure, following a Friday announcement about a diesel-supply deal with Moscow. However, continuing unrest in the Middle East continued to support high fuel prices.
