The All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU) General Office has issued a notice to fully launch the second National Team Leader Competition, aiming to strengthen enterprise team building, better leverage the role of industrial unions, and accelerate the development of a knowledgeable, skilled, and innovative industrial workforce. This year's competition features ten industry tracks covering rail, power, pharmaceuticals, machinery, metallurgy, building materials, defense technology, information and communications, light industry, and textiles, with the event structured in three phases: online registration and preliminary rounds, track finals, and results exchange sessions.

Enterprise team members can sign up for the corresponding track's preliminary round, while team leaders are eligible to advance to the track finals. The first-place winner in each track, provided they meet the qualifying criteria, will be recommended for the National May Day Labor Medal through the standard application process. Since pre-registration opened on August 10, a total of 900,000 team workers nationwide have already enrolled, with the registration deadline set for September 5 at 24:00.

Starting August 24, workers can log into the "Workers' Home" app and access the "Labor Competition" module's "Second Team Leader Competition" section for self-directed learning, participate in online training drills, and earn learning certificates. The preliminary round's theory exam will be held on September 10 in scheduled time slots within the competition section, and participants who pass will qualify for the track finals.

The track finals, organized separately by the relevant national industrial unions, focus primarily on practical operational assessments, supplemented by industry-specific theory exams, digital twin simulation scenarios, and artificial intelligence application evaluations, with an emphasis on testing team leaders' ability to solve real-world production site problems. Each track final accommodates 200 participants, awarding three first prizes, seven second prizes, and ten third prizes.

In mid-October, the top 10 finalists from each track will travel to Jilin Province for results exchange sessions focused on enterprise team building. It is worth noting that the inaugural competition in 2024 attracted 650,000 workers.
