On July 24, 2026, in Austin, Texas, a customer browsed Nike footwear and apparel at a Nike factory outlet store.
Shares of sportswear giant Nike (stock code: NKE) fell to a 12-year low during Wednesday's midday trading session. The stock dropped more than 2% following a downgrade from Truist Securities, with the current price level last seen back in August 2014. So far in 2026, Nike shares have accumulated a decline of nearly 40%.
Truist Securities believes that Dick's Sporting Goods lowering its full-year 2026 earnings guidance serves as a bearish signal for Nike. Nike brand products account for approximately 35% to 40% of the merchandise purchased by Dick's Sporting Goods.
Currently, Nike is undergoing a transformation under the leadership of CEO Elliott Hill, but the recovery process is taking longer than analysts initially anticipated. Compared to the all-time high reached at the end of 2021, Nike shares have now fallen by more than 75%.
