On August 20, China Construction Bank Corporation (CCB) successfully priced and issued its second tranche of Total Loss-Absorbing Capacity (TLAC) non-capital bonds for 2026. The issuance totaled 50 billion yuan and was structured in two categories: Category One reached 35 billion yuan with a coupon rate of 1.68%, while Category Two amounted to 15 billion yuan at a coupon rate of 1.80%.
For this issuance, CCB leveraged its group-wide synergies to engage a diverse range of investors, precisely seizing a favorable window of low market interest rates. The bank proactively prepared its plans, carefully evaluated multiple market variables, and flexibly adjusted its issuance strategy to capture market opportunities effectively, achieving optimal results in both issuance scale and pricing.
The successful issuance of these bonds will effectively enhance CCB's TLAC risk-weighted ratio, further solidifying its foundation for meeting TLAC requirements.
