On August 26 at approximately 10:30 AM, a mudslide originating from the Nepalese side caused significant casualties and left individuals missing at Gyirong Port in Gyirong County, Shigatse, Tibet. In the immediate aftermath, JD.com activated its emergency response protocols, swiftly aligning with national directives to support relief operations.
That evening, guided by the Chengdu fire and rescue department, JD Logistics' Sichuan-Tibet regional division responded rapidly, dispatching multiple trucks free of charge to transport a batch of emergency relief materials to Chengdu Shuangliu Airport overnight. This ensured the supplies could be airlifted to the disaster zone in Shigatse with utmost speed. In parallel, JD.com has been maintaining close coordination with local authorities, actively stockpiling various disaster-relief goods and preparing fully to support rescue efforts.
Since the start of summer 2026, JD.com has engaged in multiple emergency support missions nationwide. In July, when Typhoon Maysak triggered severe flooding in Nanning, Guangxi, JD.com quickly allocated nearly 40,000 relief items, delivering them with dedicated personnel and vehicles, while also deploying emergency drones for supply drops and damage assessments, achieving a comprehensive "land, water, and air" rescue operation. During the same month, JD Logistics donated essential living supplies to a landslide-affected area in Tanchang County, Longnan, Gansu. Additionally, to counter Typhoon Bavi, it pre-positioned professional rescue equipment, including inflatable boats, to various locations in Zhejiang. On August 25, responding to flooding from Typhoon Zitan, JD.com once again contributed supplies to Ningming, Chongzuo, Guangxi.
